Junior Open Day & Club Afternoon

 

The Friday evening coaching will be conducted by Euan Rogers during September 2008.

 

Douglas Gibson conducted his very popular coaching for junior members through-out the early season. Douglas is an LTA Awarded coach and complies with the club's LTA approved Child Protection Policy.

 

The aim this year is to make better links with youngster's parents and hope their support and encouragement will result in a sustained period of playing and success in competition.

 

If you are a parent in the area and you would like to give your children the opportunity of some coaching and competition, please contact Douglas Gibson who will be pleased to give you further details.

Parent & Child Coaching - Sat 11:30 to 1pm - A fun coaching session for your child, or children, covering basic theory, strokes, movement and co-ordination including fun games. Parents are given separate coaching covering basic theory, strokes, movement and co-ordination, including ground strokes, drives, volleys and service, in fact all the basics to enjoy playing tennis with your children and ensure they learn good habits and improve from an early age. The session is conducted by our own committee member and qualified LTA coach, Douglas Gibson. Due to such popularity the sessions have been extended during all of September 2008, only the heaviest of rain permitting! The last session therefore will be on Sat 27 Sep 2008.

 

 

Adult Coaching

 

Adult coaching from Jaki Stewart completed in May 2008. Details of new sessions for next season will be advised when available.

 

Jaki Stewart

 

Enthusiastic LTA (DCA awarded) Coach, Jaki Stewart continues to provide excellent beginner and improver coaching at the club.

 

Jaki is particularly enthusiastic with young members and promoting tennis in local schools through Tennis Tayside and complies with the Club's LTA approved Child Protection Policy.

 

For this season Jaki has put together a great selection of coaching sessions with summer and autumn holiday camps and Tuesday evening summer and autumn term sessions. Full details of the dates, times and costs can be seen by clicking on the link below:

Lawn Tennis Association - Coaching Awards

 

Development Coach Award (DCA) - designed for coaches interested in working with beginners and improvers, in clubs and schools. It includes N/SVQ Level 2 Coaching, Teaching and Instructing Tennis.

 

Club Coach Award (CCA) - follows the DCA. It aims to train inspiring coaches who can coach both children and adults, in the whole spectrum of the club environment.

 

Performance Coach Award (PCA) - provides the knowledge and practical experience required to prepare players for successful competition in international tennis.
