We were very pleased to receive letters of congratulations from guests attending the Open Day, have a look at some below.
Dear Ian I am writing to thank you and your Club members most sincerely for your hospitality to Roy and me on Saturday afternoon. Kindly pass on our thanks to all concerned especially those on Committee and others involved with the organisation, the catering or the coaching on the day. All of your hard work certainly paid off because it was an excellent birthday party and formal opening of your new courts, which are very smart indeed, and your piper added to the occasion. Wasn't it great to see so many youngsters participating, so many others helping and the good turnout of interested spectators? Didn't Judy do really well, both opening the courts and working with the players? You must be very pleased that she was able to come. And we were so lucky that the rain came to nothing, which let everyone enjoy their day more than they might have done otherwise. I know from experience the work that goes into fund-raising and organising new facilities, so many congratulations and well done to all involved from myself and Tennis Scotland. Hopefully, you'll all be able to relax now and enjoy your new facilities. Finally, having just celebrated your 75th anniversary, I trust that your Club will go on from strength to strength (tho' I doubt I'll see your centenary celebrations!), because it's you and people like you who make tennis available to so many adults and children locally and give them the opportunity to achieve their tennis potential. I was pleased to be able to speak to George Stewart (Kinnoull Club), who had also come along on Saturday - he's a great example to all in Tayside and indeed the whole of Scotland. Being comparatively late in starting to play tennis, last year he retained his 85&over World Men's Doubles title whilst 87. Follow that, Douglas! Very best wishes, Christine
Dear Ian I would like to thank you for Saturday. It was a very successful afternoon and it was so good to see so many young children participating in the coaching. Thanks must go to all the sponsors and the dedicated team who work so hard to encourage these youngsters and I just hope all your work is appreciated. I also hope that the lovely new facilities escape the vandalism that seems to happen these days. However we will not be pessimistic but be enthusiastic and look to the future with optimism. Thanks again for the invitation and for the lovely buffet lunch. I appreciated all the work that it must have entailed. Regards Matgaret Lobban
Dear Ian, Thank you for your kind hospitality on Saturday at your Opening Day. It was a privilege to share it with you. You certainly seem to have a great team of members working hard for the club and who will I am sure push the club forward and make it a worthwhile and fun place to belong to. We wish you and your club the best of luck and perhaps I might have a game on your new courts some time?
Regards
Pat and John
Hi Ian, Just a note to say thank you very much for a very entertaining afternoon yesterday, I enjoyed it very much. I was very impressed with the commitment of everyone involved into making the day the success that it was. It was great to see the enthusiasm of all the youngsters taking part and, hopefully, another champion will come out of it, here's hoping. I also enjoyed the marvelous buffet which was provided by your members, it was absolutely delicious. Once again, many thanks for a great day and I look forward to playing at your Club in some form in the future. Yours Irene Rixson (Gleneagles)
Ian Very well done yesterday. I found set up very well organised-your courts look great. I’m sure you and your committee now feel the effort was very worthwhile. You have set a very high standard for other clubs to match. See you at TT in a few weeks or so!
