I hope everyone is enjoying the tennis weather!

Some dates which may be of interest to you:

  1. Adult Club Championships – 25, 26 and 27 August.

Margaret Nicol is again organising the weekend and the Gents and Ladies Singles will take place on the evening of Friday 25 August.

The Ladies and Gents Doubles will take place on Saturday 26 August and again this year will take the form of an American Tournament with the 4 highest – scoring players contesting the final on Sunday 27th.

The Mixed Doubles will take place on Sunday 27th in the morning with the finals on Sunday afternoon.

Please see the lists in the Clubhouse and add your name now!

We have just received the amended Lease plan and will have this on display for comment that weekend.

  1. Junior Club Championship

TBA – please see the list in the Clubhouse or give your name to Fiona Bruce .

    3.  Perth and District Tournament – Sunday 10         September

This is to be held at Perth LTC on Sunday 10 September.  We have entered Ladies and Gents Teams for this Tournament.  Please contact Elaine Dewar by 31 August if you are interested in playing.

 4.  Tennis Tayside Tournament  and AGM– Sunday 24 September.

Again, we have entered a team to compete in this tournament.

 5.  Dates for your diary

A social night out for all members at a venue to be decided is being organised by Margaret Nicol for Friday 20th October.

As usual, we shall combine this with the annual prizegiving.  Please put your name on the list on the club noticeboard.

This year’s AGM will be held on  Sunday 29th October in the Clubhouse, hopefully preceded by an American Tournament.

Congratulations to the Ladies 1st team who have gained promotion back to Division 1 and the Junior P & D team who came 2nd in their Division and are in the play-offs against Dunkeld!  Thanks to all team captains for organising Midlands and P&D teams.

Most of you will be aware of the sad news that one of our valued club members, John Jasper, died recently and we send our deepest sympathy to his widow, Jean, and family.

We are pleased to note that the disruption caused by some “bystanders” at the start of the Season did not continue and it is hoped that the relative “calm and tranquillity” will prevail!

Social Tennis on a Friday evening continues apace and all members are warmly invited to join in!

 Best wishes

The Committee
